On September 9, 2015, Little Mix officially announced that Love Me Like You will be the second single from the third album Get Weird. It is scheduled to be released on September 25, 2015.
Critical Reception
Upon release, "Love Me Like You" was positively received by contemporary music journalists. Bianca Gracie of Idolator stated: "It is a vibrant mid-tempo that takes it back to the cutesy Doo-wop and Motown era, as Little Mix channel their inner Supremes with tight harmonies that are laid over a charming melody that is most suitable for a date at your local ice cream parlor — or a sock hop, if this prom-inspired clue is of any indication" while Digital Spy described it as "the very best of Motown with a Supremes-style pop song."
Chart Performance
In the United Kingdom, "Love Me Like You" debuted at number 21 on the UK Singles Chart on 8 October 2015. It later peaked at number 11 on 7 January 2016. It also peaked at number nine on the UK Singles Downloads Chart. The track has been certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), denoting shipments of 400,000 copies. In Scotland, the song reached number five. It achieved success in Ireland, reaching number 8 on 31 December 2015. It peaked at number 66 on the Belgium Ultratip Flanders chart on 31 October 2015. It also peaked at number 64 in Slovakia, number 81 in the Czech Republic, and number 140 in France. Outside of Europe, "Love Me Like You" reached number 80 on the Japan Hot 100, number 27 in Australia, and number one on the New Zealand Heatseekers chart. [1]
Music Video
The music video was shot in LA. It was released on October 2, 2015. The music video was shot at the same time as that of "Black Magic", in Los Angeles. It involves a man, played by Hector David Jr., inviting the girls for a prom date, Jade going for a cruise in a car, Leigh-Anne in a park, Jesy in a cinema, sharing popcorn with him, and Perrie falling off her bike when she sees him shirtless and using Dumbbell weights, and David Jr subsequently helping her up. However, he is at the prom with another partner, leaving the girls with each other. The music video for the Christmas remix was released on December 18, 2015.
