Red Planet is a song by Little Mix which appears as the tenth track on their debut album, DNA. The song features T-Boz from TLC.
Critical Reception
Popdust writer Andrew Unterberger stated: "'Red Planet,' easily the friskiest track on DNA – “Boy you make it hot on your red planet / Turn it up on your red planet” sounds like it should be a euphemism of considerable filth, though if it is, I haven’t figured how just yet. Regardless, the song has a feisty quality missing from much of DNA, with a growling guitar riff reminiscent of Beyonce’s “Naughty Girl” and a lusty urgency to the vocals that points to a direction the girls may head in when they’re more comfortably out of their teen years.
The primary drawback of the song is the fact that when doing the love-in-outer-space thing in an expansive 2010′s pop production, it’s kind of hard to escape the shadow of Katy Perry’s mega-smash “E.T.,” whose presence looms large over “Red Planet.” Not like “E.T.” was a classic that all suffer in comparison to, exactly, but it’s hard to listen to the chorus without going “KISS. ME. K-K-K-KISS ME.” in your head. Not a huge problem, but a problem." [1]
